TITLE: Meta* - The 4th Annual New Media Exhibition The definition of Meta is described by dictionary.com as being a prefix meaning one level of description higher. The definition of Meta is described in one instance by wikipedia.com as being a prefix used in English in order to indicate a concept which is an abstraction from another concept, going beyond the original ideas of the original concept. Considering these descriptions, the prefix “Meta” will be used in promotional material to suggest to the audience all ideas, concepts, and beliefs that the artists within the exhibition are challenging, creating, and developing beyond society’s original ideas. The purpose of this style of promotion is to emphasize exactly what we as New Media artists are changing with innovation and technology. We want to produce a show that intrigues an audience, teaches an audience, challenges an audience, and has the audience members departing with new ideas surrounding a variety of different topics in the art world and other varying areas of societal life.
