The words of Third World problems are heard so much that we've become desensitized to the weight of the negative word. None of us, in the First World, truly understand the effects of these problems, and are not really affected by them. People interact with the words without really reading it and spend time focusing on how the words interact with their motions. The participant has the chance to push the swarms of words away, but is unable to completely remove it and the blank space that they create eventually gets filled again. It is a commentary on the bubble that we live in.
My proposal for the final project is a Kinect-based interactions. Using movement of the person to push swarms of words away. I want it to be a commentary on the bubble that we live in and that all the words are things like poverty, starvation, genocide, etc.
