The Tri-Mentoring Program is looking for Upper Year Image Arts students!

The Tri-Mentoring Program is a peer to peer mentoring program that engages students within Ryerson’s diverse community and enhances learning and social opportunities on and off campus.

We match 1st year Ryerson students (mentees) with a senior student (mentors) to help with 1st year orientation and cultural transition to university life.

Mentees can ask their mentors about campus life, how to navigate around Ryerson and ask questions around their program.

Volunteer mentors will be properly trained to assist a 1st year student and will receive recognition for volunteering.

Join today at www.ryerson.ca/trimentoring or come to POD 54 to fill out an application form.

I am producing and directing a documentary about my life in the television commercial production business. The working title is The Greatest Story Never Told. It’s based on my life as a television commercial producer in the 1980′s up until 2010. Specifically, the film hones in on the 80′s and 90′s when the ad business was staggeringly successful.

I need help on the following dates:

P/L:    Friday November 23, 2012
Shoot:  Saturday November 24, 2012
Wrap:   Monday November 26, 2012

Particulars follow:

Studio: Showline Studios, 915 Lakeshore Blvd. East, 7K Stage
Toronto, Ontario (Lakeshore just east of Carlaw)
Call:   TBA (dependent upon day)
Event:  A Reunion Party featuring mostly production personnel
and some Agency folks.

What I need

1)      DP’s who have cameras – SLR’s, Canons or D90′s. Ideally, about 25
students is what I am aiming for. The more the merrier.
2)      Hard workers willing to help get my event organized. I know everyone
wants to be in the film biz; however, this is a great opportunity
to meet Directors, Director’s of Photography, Producers all the way     down to the bottom of the chain. Between the 500+ guests, you will      meet CLIO, CANNES and BESSIE winners and the like. Most are retired,    some are still working but it’s a great crowd and you will learn so     much. Mentoring youth is so very important to me.
3)      If there is anyone that could help me produce from the business
side, I’m up for it. I’m heavily into prep and would appreciate
any and all help between now and the wrap day. I’m talking about
runners, data entry (trying to get the lists sorted out as in
art direction, propping, who’s attending, etc.)
4)      Bonus if you have vehicles or a metropass.

Unfortunately, I have not received funding as yet so there is no way to pay you for your time. That being said, it’s an amazing opportunity. When opportunity knocks … you open the door.

Thanks so much for your time.

I am looking for a student who can edit 12 short videos to be used as part of a course in Human Resource Management. I need the videos edited before the end of August, so I would like a student to start as soon as possible. In return, a student will gain experience in editing videos for educational purposes, and will receive $150 upon completion of the project.

Please contact Amanda Shantz via email: amandashantz100@hotmail.com

Hi there,
I am looking for a photographer that is willing to take some candid shots of me and my family in the park one Saturday afternoon (1-2 hours tops).

My son is turning one, and since my husband is usually the one behind the camera, we are severely lacking family photos that includes all of us. I’m looking for something with a slight artistic streak, so as to not look cliche.

We are also hoping to buy all the raw images afterwards outright (of course, we are more than happy to credit you for your work whenever we add the image to an album, or post it anywhere), as we prefer to do all the processing ourselves (I am working under the assumption that a digital camera will be used).

Price is negotiable.

Please contact me if you are interested at alexrink@gmail.com.
Thank you,

Alex

Hello Everyone:

I’m hoping that you can forward this link and request to your students.

http://www.ryerson.ca/ric/student.html

For 2013, the call for submissions for the RIC Student Gallery is to FCAD students alone.  The link provides background on the student gallery, RIC, as well as a link to the downloadable PDF submission form.

So, we’d love to see some of our best work on show!    Please encourage your students to submit to this inaugural year of exhibitions at RIC.
