Promotional Video Project – Concept Development and Production

Timing: Start ASAP, to be completed by August 3rd, 2012.

Details: Academy of Learning Career Colleges is looking to produce at least one video to promote their 25th Anniversary, and likely 2 other promotional videos. Video length can vary from 30 seconds to 3-4 minutes depending on the concept.

Competitive compensation/budget will be provided, and we are open to discussing how the project will be carried forward.

Photographer Needed

Hi there,
I am looking for a photographer that is willing to take some candid shots of me and my family in the park one Saturday afternoon (1-2 hours tops).

My son is turning one, and since my husband is usually the one behind the camera, we are severely lacking family photos that includes all of us. I’m looking for something with a slight artistic streak, so as to not look cliche.

We are also hoping to buy all the raw images afterwards outright (of course, we are more than happy to credit you for your work whenever we add the image to an album, or post it anywhere), as we prefer to do all the processing ourselves (I am working under the assumption that a digital camera will be used).

Price is negotiable.

The selected candidate will photography our flagship store and surroundings for the purpose of using the images for our website and marketing material. The images will form the background of our entire website.
The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, “outside of the box” in terms of their thinking and creativity, professional with a great attitude.

Grand River Film Festival Announces New Feature Film Competition

Cambridge, Ontario – June 15, 2012 - The Grand River Film Festival  (GRFF) today announced its first global solicitation of submissions for a full length feature film competition.  The competition will be part of GRFF’s sixth annual festival to be held October 16-21, 2012.

In making this announcement, Board Chair, Jay Morrision, said “this new competition is a reflection of the extent to which GRFF has matured in its five years.  We plan to devote a part of future festivals to the celebration of different aspects of community life and this year’s theme for the competition will be the cultural relevance of sport”.  Mr Morrison emphasised the strong regional and national influence of sport. “We believe that this is a subject that will not only draw a large number of entries but will grow local attendance at the Festival”.

Those wishing to submit an entry can take advantage of the industry standard, “Withoutabox” on the GRFF website.  This greatly facilitates the process and reduces both paperwork and technology waste.  The winner in this category will receive a prize of $1,000 and their movie will be screened at a GRFF event.

Submissions are now open at www.grff.ca for the October 2012 competition.  Projects must be completed after January 1, 2010.

Camera Operators Needed

We are in need of film students who can intern as cameramen/women for an exciting new reality television show to be aired in Fox. The duration of this project will be over the next two months, or until further notice. It will be part-time, from 3-4 days a week, 2-3 hours a day, unless advised.

 

Skills required:

-       Must be highly technical and creative

-       Must have excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to take direction well from others

-       Experience or apprenticeship in filming is necessary

-       Must either be a current film student or someone who has finished a film course

 

This is an unpaid internship but is potentially beneficial for those looking for actual filming experience as we can offer media mileage and access to key people in the television industry.
