Videographer
Reporting to Webcast & Video Specialist
Freelance – as required Hourly Range: $25- $30/hour

HRPA’s HR Broadcasting program brings premium HR education to our members. Our webcast platform live streams HRPA’s in-class professional development—workshops, seminars and executive events—direct to our members’ computers, tablets or mobile devices so our members get the full classroom experience from wherever they want. HRPA HR Broadcast is a distance learning solution that is as rewarding as attending in person.
The videographer is responsible for video operations for HRPA, principally webcasting from the association’s learning centre at 150 Bloor St. W., Toronto. Technical duties include setting up video equipment, operating video cameras, shooting and recording live broadcast. In addition to live broadcasting, the incumbent will also work on other video projects that arise, including web videos, social media projects and pre-recorded messages.
The ideal candidate will be someone in their final year of university/college with a passion for video production. Experience in customer service and managing live webcasts and live broadcasting are musts. This individual is well organized with high energy, a sunny disposition and exceptional communications and interpersonal skills. This role is ideal for someone with at least one year of experience in video production, lighting and some editing and also an interest in understanding of emerging trends in video and audio broadcasting applications.
Job Description:
• QA/QC of technical elements and overall capture of recorded programs; ensure good quality audio and video is streaming live online
• Work at the association’s learning centre at 150 Bloor St. W., Toronto
• Use of video and multimedia required for extended length events–2hr to ½-day to full-day seminars—in order to maintain engagement with online learning
• Work on other video projects that arise, including web videos, social media projects and pre-recorded messages, provide content for HRPA’s YouTube Channel, HRPA TV, etc.
• Provide best standards and practice to all webcasts

Attributes /Skills
• Experience operating professional video cameras, teleprompter and audio equipment
• Familiarity with HD Cameras and workflow
• Experience in shooting live events
• Knowledge of video production, lighting and some editing
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle pressure and the willingness and drive to work to tight deadlines
• Keen interest, understanding and use of different audio and video technologies and how to adapt them to our environment
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Experience /Qualifications
• Enrolled in college technical training or certificates in A/V and electronic media
• Experience user of Adobe Production Suite of products (Premiere, Soundbooth, Encore, etc.) an asset
• Experience with PowerPoint, HTML or online production, a plus

Work environment
• Must be willing and able to work on-site at HRPA with minimum notification Broadcasts may start as early as 7:30am (requiring set-up by 6:30am) or run as late as 8pm
