What:
Art of Fashion is seeking a film maker/team to create a
documentary to be featured this coming October.
The documentary will depict the organization’s annual fashion design competition, and
follow the participants on their journey into the exciting and unscrupulous world of
Canadian fashion.
About the Organization:
Art of Fashion Inc. is an award winning not-for-profit organization that is committed to
fostering the careers of Canadian apparel and accessory designers by creating platforms
for exposure.
Annually, the organization hosts the epitome of fashion-forward competition, pitting 10 of
Canada’s most up and coming designers against each other utilizing a common theme.
Each designer vies for the titles of “Most Promising Designer” and “Best Exhibit”, as the
winning designers are awarded a grand prize pack valued at over $40,000. This prize
includes a monetary grant, exclusive retail and media opportunities and memberships to
a multitude of arts and design committees.
With over 20,000 spectators annually, Art of Fashion is one of the industry’s most
recognized and respected platforms for Canadian Fashion Designers to launch from.
HISTORY

on the finalists that questions and details their inspiration and
motives behind their fashion creations.

This year it’s time to do something different.
New! The Project:
It’s time for a change. Art of Fashion is an
industry recognized and nationally
respected catalyst for Candian fashion
designers. It is time to expand the
documentary and utilize the film to truly
expose the designers, the industry and the
organization.
The goal of the documentary is to showcase
Art of Fashion as an invaluable
organization, bringing light to the underacknowledged
and desperate lack of
funding in our country for designers to
flourish. By including the past Art of Fashion
Competition, La Belle Epoque 2010, and
joining the competing designers as they
navigate their newly launched careers, the
documentary will allow the public a glimpse
of the painstaking efforts that go into
designing fashion for a living in our country.
