Editorial Photographer wanted – The Local | Paid : Stipend per story

The journalism-meets-documentary team at OpenLab (http://uhnopenlab.ca) is looking for a freelance photographer to join our new storytelling project called The Local.

The project tells hyperlocal stories about the health of Toronto’s unique neighbourhoods. It uses magazine writing, documentary, podcasts and photography to bring a human dimension to the data that policy planners use to understand the health gaps in our city.

We are looking for an editorial photographer to work with our award winning team to bring our stories to life. This would involve going into community settings to photograph people in their home or work environments. Examples of stories include: homelessness and addiction in Moss Park, mental health and new immigrants in Crescent Town, social isolation and seniors living alone in Kensington-Chinatown.
