RESPONSE TO COLOUR BOOK
Colour book is inspired by Wired magazine’s custom algorithm. In 2008 Wired celebrated its 15 anniversary by having an algorithm created, which would extract all the common coulours used in the magazine and display it in a bullseye colour pallet. Likewise, we decided to create a processing sketch that would extract the most common colours from any pictures. We decided to display this on a website of our own. We came up with colour book, a site similar to facebook but unlike facebook colour book keeps its users identity private. Users would upload their picture into an uploader which would send the image to the processing sketch that would extract the most common used colourrs from the picture. The new pixilated image would become the users profile picture. User can interact with other users without having to reveal their face. The site also doesn't require any personal information.
On the site users can sign up and create their own profile, with pictures.
Wiith more time we plan on giving users the ability to interact with other users as well as be able to upload their pixilated pictures into our gallery. Users would also be able to comment on other user’s uploaded pictures.
To understand colourbook more, please visit the actual website.
