The Ryerson Image Arts Student Lecture Series (SLS) takes place every year over the course of the fall and winter semesters. Featuring lectures by artists, curators, theorists, industry professionals, and others associated with the art community, the SLS provides a vital forum for current issues and practices of relevance to students. The lectures are presented in a variety of formats, including artist talks, conversations, panel discussions and symposiums.

The ongoing goal of the Lecture Series is to expose students from Ryerson’s School of Image Arts, the Ryerson Community, as well as the community at large, to ideas in contemporary culture, provoking creative thinking and discussion.

The fundraising and coordination for the SLS is undertaken by fourth year students from the photography program of the School of Image Arts, providing these students with important hands-on learning.
